#NEIGHBORCHALLENGE

To prevent the continued spread of COVID-19, we’re practicing social distancing and self-isolation as a society. While these preventative measures are wise to prevent the spread of the virus, they are hard on us as people—we were created for relationships after all!

We’re loving our neighbors by offering a helping hand in this time of need.

Whether it is picking up groceries, a friendly phone call, or offering prayer, we’re here to help! To let people know, we’re posting a “Hey Neighbor” card on their door and ringing the doorbell as we leave—think “ding dong ditch” with a purpose.

We value loving every One because every number is a name, every name is a story, and every story matters to God! Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matt. 22:39b). In this time of crisis, we are taking it upon ourselves to do just that. Are you in?

Here is how you too can join the movement of neighbors loving neighbors:

  1. Download and fill in the “Hey Neighbor Card” available here.

  2. Post a “Hey Neighbor Card” on your neighbors’ doors and post a quick selfie video of your story on social media—tagging Connect Church (@4connectchurch) and 10 friends to spread the love of #neighborchallenge.

  3. Help out when your neighbors reach out.

**As you share the love, don’t share COVID-19. Wash your hands regularly and keep your distance. Stay safe out there!**

God has wired us for relationships, yet we live in one of the loneliest areas of the country. We are doing something about it–starting in our neighborhoods and apartment buildings.

Host a Community Get Together to foster community amongst those who live by you.

We realize that hosting an event like this can be some work, so we are here to help from planning through execution.

Hosting a Community Get Together is as easy as 1, 2, 3–literally!

  1. Plan the Community Get Together: We developed an event planning worksheet to help you plan the event, and you can access it here. Be sure to let us know if you want to borrow our jump house, corn hole sets, or simply need some man power to pull it off.

  2. Invite your neighbors: We designed an invite template to make it easy to invite people, and you can access it here . We recommend inviting people about 10 days in advance.

  3. Enjoy community: This is the fun part because you get to build relationships with your neighbors! Let us know if you need help grilling burgers or anything else, so you can engage with your neighbors instead of worrying about the food.
